Your assistance in data gathering is a vital part of the District’s annual self-assessment. District-wide survey data is a critical part of the school’s Plan of Operation when developing measurable objectives for School Performance Plans. The survey is intended to provide information regarding progress toward District initiatives and to be in compliance with School Board policies. The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete.
The Smarter Balanced Assessment System has been approved by the Nevada State Board of Education as the statewide criterion referenced test for grades 3-8. The assessments will be administered in the Spring of 2018 for ELA and mathematics. The new assessment system has many significant improvements over the
former CRT’s including the computer adaptive component, expanded accessibility features, and universal tools. The computer based assessment will offer new technology enhanced items, performance tasks, selected response, and extended written response items allowing for students to be exposed to real world problems with an emphasis on critical thinking and problem solving.

Teachers, students, and parents can experience what these new assessments will be like by accessing the practice tests. Please use the following link to take the practice and training tests.

Research indicates that ALL children should read each and every night. Furthermore, reading homework is shown to be the best assignment to increase the academic achievement of elementary students.

All Parson students use the same weekly reading log designed to give a wide variety of choice.

Click on the link below to download a copy of the log that is due each Monday. If you would like additional ideas or suggestions for working with mathematics at home, please see the Math tab and specific grade level tabs on our website.

Regulation/Policy 4100

Helping to protect Clark County School District (CCSD) students and employees is the intent of a series of training videos developed for employees, coaches, volunteers, parents and students.
The videos are associated with Policy and Regulation 4100, which outlines acceptable relationships and communication between students, employees and coaches, including volunteers.
CCSD officials emphasized that the vast majority of CCSD employees are dedicated professionals who are committed to the safety of students. The videos are meant to help employees, coaches and volunteers set appropriate boundaries that protect them as well as students.

Attached you will find the required Title I Parent Notification Letter for Parson in English and Spanish.
Rationale: As a result of the Every Student Succeeds Act, all Title I schools are required to notify parents that they receive Title I funds and, if applicable, the school’s designation Comprehensive Support and Improvement. In addition, schools that are classified as Comprehensive Support and Improvement, must identify what is being done to address the school’s low achievement challenges.
Students, parents, and community members, please take a moment to applaud a teacher or staff member. Let someone know you care and value his or her professionalism! The honoree will be surprised with the Rave Review during a weekly staff meeting!
